Blue Chihuahua: Is A Blue Chihuahua The Right Dog For You?

This little pup is not exactly blue, but it has a sort of gray that has just a tinge of blue. It is very hard to breed a blue Chihuahua, so this dog needs to be cherished as the special treasure that it is.

General Chihuahua Facts

This little Mexican dog, named for the state of Chihuahua, is considered to be the smallest breed of dog in the world. They have big eyes, and ears that are large and erect. There are two varieties, one being the long coat and the other being the smooth coat.

Blue Chihuahuas and any other colored Chihuahuas are considered to be devoted companions who have large personalities packed into a tiny body. They can be quite ferocious when it comes to defending themselves and their pack, and it is amusing to see such a little dog act so big and tough.

Chihuahuas can be shown in the ring with any solid color, splashed or marked. This permits many colors such as fawn, black, white, and the rarely seen blue Chihuahua. Owning a blue Chihuahua doesn’t make a difference in the show ring, it is merely a matter of personal preference.

Blue Chihuahuas should not be bought as companions to children because they have a tendency to bite when they are scared, and their temperament is not suited to youngsters. They are prone to attach themselves to one person, and woe to anyone who gets in between the two.
